Course Overview:

Information Security deals with the methodology of transmitting data securely from

multiple sources. The challenges are in ensuring that data are of good quality. It makes

us understand what algorithms are used for implementation of security and their

applications. It also enables us to know how documents can be securely transferred across

the web and also promotes the use of secure electronic transactions.

Scope of the Course:

 Learn basic principles of Information security and its applications

 Classify various block ciphers and its usages

 Design various cryptographic algorithms that used for encryption and

decryption purposes

 Understand the concept public key cryptography

 Apply digital signatures in email processing

 Study different techniques used in key exchange protocols
