Course Overview
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Microsoft Excel, covering fundamental spreadsheet functionalities, essential formulas, data analysis techniques, and PivotTables. Participants will learn how to manipulate data effectively, use advanced formulas, create charts, and generate insightful reports.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the basic functionalities of Excel, including the interface, toolbars, and spreadsheet organization.
- Use formulas and functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, IF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH, COUNTIF, and TEXT functions.
- Perform data analysis using sorting, filtering, data validation, and text-to-columns features.
- Create and format PivotTables for dynamic data visualization and analysis.
- Generate charts and graphs to present data effectively.
- Utilize advanced Excel tools like AutoFill, Named Ranges, Freeze Panes, and Conditional Formatting.

The course consists of three major units:
Introduction to Excel
- Spreadsheet Basics, Toolbars, Formatting, and Navigation
- Working with Rows, Columns, and Cells
- Using AutoFill and Special Paste Features
Formulas, Functions, and Charts
- Basic and Advanced Formulas (SUM, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, TRIM, etc.)
- Data Analysis with Sorting, Filtering, and Validation
- Creating and Formatting Charts
PivotTables and Data Visualization
- Building and Manipulating PivotTables
- Using the PivotTable Toolbar and Customizing Layouts
- Creating PivotCharts and Adding Subtotals
Assessment and Certification
- Weekly hands-on assignments and quizzes
- Final project involving real-world data analysis
- Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate of completion
Prerequisites
No prior Excel experience is required. Basic knowledge of spreadsheets is beneficial but not mandatory.
